How do I encrypt a file in Windows XP?

When you encrypt a file or folder, you do a conversion to a format that can not read anyone else. An encryption key file you added to the file or folder that you choose for encryption.

This key is required to read the file. Windows XP makes encryption and decryption process easier, step by step easy to follow. When you log into your computer, you will easily read. Anyone who tries to use your computer without a user login with your account, he will not be able to read it.

To encrypt a file or folder, do:
1. Open windows explorer (windows key + E).



2. Right-click the file or folder to be encrypted, and then select Properties.



3. On the General tab, click advanced.




4. Click the box Encrypt contents to secure data.
